What is Bird’s Nest?

Preparation

1. Soak bird’s nest in distilled water for a few hours or until soft.
2. Remove pinfeathers and foreign particles with tweezers.
3. Change the water at least twice during this process.
4. Drain the bird’s nest.
5. Place in a slow cooker, adding enough water to cover the bird’s nest.
   – Adjust water according to preference (sticky and thick vs. watery).
6. Keep the heat on low to avoid a hard, rolling boil.
7. Cook for 40 minutes to 1 hour (depending on the amount).
8. Bird’s nest should be soft and slippery-like when done.
